The end of the year is often a time of gift-giving for families and friends around the world. And this spirit of giving has prompted tens of thousands of motorcyclists from biking clubs and chapters around South Africa to join forces and spoil less fortunate children in the local communities at the annual Toy Run.
This event is completely geared towards and based on charity, so the organisers of the Toy Run need the support of the local communities for the initiative to work. Mossel Bay’s businesses and tourism-related industries are especially important to the cause, as are those in the surrounding areas of George, Knysna and the rest of the Garden Route. Prizes and special gifts for the children are in huge demand for the Toy Run, and the help of local businesses and individuals will be hugely appreciated.

World Blood Donor Month
June is dedicated to blood donors. Without them and their dedication to blood donation, lives would be lost.
World Blood Donor Day is commemorated on 14 June 2018 in a global celebration of the millions of people throughout the world who give their blood on a voluntary basis to save the lives of those in need.
Donating a unit of blood can save up to three patients in dire need of blood. By becoming a regular blood donor, this ensures that the safety of blood is maintained and makes it possible for the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) to collect sufficient safe blood to meet the demand.
Find out more about donating blood on the the SANBS website.
25 May 2018 is Tekkie Tax Day.
What is Tekkie Tax?
Tekkie Tax is a campaign especially to Protect the Vulnerable.
It covers basically anything such as Education, Animals, Children, Disability and much-much more.
All you need to do is to buy a Tekkie Tax fun sticker of R10 – don’t forget to buy funky shoelaces or T-shirts as well! And wear those Tekkies!
Any funds raised will be donated towards charity organisations. Do your part and give back to the community.
